National Heritage Volunteers (NHV)

NHV is an organization that works solely to generate awareness amongst people about city’s culture, heritage and history. They keep on conducting various heritage walks involving participants from various age groups to help them in knowing maximum about the city. Their motto is to make people and tourists empathetic about Ahmedabad and its walls, so they don’t feel confined within them.

Mission: To engross people in tales of Ahmedabad and train them in conducting their own heritage walks.

Vision: To conduct more than 10,000 walks within Ahmedabad itself.

About the Heritage Walker: Girish Gupta who is a Regional Tour Guide approved by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India is the leading element in the National Heritage Volunteers team. The highly enthusiastic city lover is conducting heritage walks since past 20 years and has so far conducted more than 5000 walks, participated by more than 50000 people. Girish believes in gaining and spreading a multicultural experience through his curated walks, his efforts are taking a structure from his enrolment in the Cultural and Heritage Management Program of Ahmedabad Heritage Ventures Lab, funded by European Union and conducted by Ahmedabad University.
